Prepare to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of reptile and amphibian anatomy in this double workshop!

Across two days you will create your own Colored Anatomy Toad Wet Specimen as well a cast and molding lifelike reptile replica.

This workshop is designed to inspire and challenge you as you work with high-quality materials and learn from an expert in the field to gain the skills and knowledge with a focus on wet specimen preservation.

Under the expert guidance of Teori Shannon participants learn a variety of museum techniques.

Reptile Replica: You will learn to position a reptile specimen in a life like manner, colour match and painting, create your own mold from a selected specimen you are working on and learn how to create a Mold and cast.

Colored Anatomy Toad Wet Specimen: Gain fascinating insights into toad anatomy while being guided through the process of dissecting and preparing a specimen for wet preservation, including techniques to colour the various important structures of a specimen and how to showcase the toad and its anatomy in a scientific display. Take home your preserved creation in a glass jar, along with a deeper understanding of the machinery of biology.

Participants will take both their final specimens home with them

This workshop is suitable for seasoned artists as well as curious beginners over the age of 15.

Participants are encouraged to bring along a pencil or pen and a notepad.

All students will be provided with the correct PPE while processing these animals.

Please note: Chemicals used include ethanol, Formalin, and enamel paint. All materials are supplied and ethically sourced where possible.
